Terms of Service

Who operates Volta
Volta is operated by Volta Travel LLC. References to "Volta," "we," "us," or "our" throughout these terms refer to Volta Travel LLC.
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account and using Volta, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Volta.
What Volta is
Volta is a group trip planning tool. It helps you coordinate travel plans, manage budgets privately, and get AI-powered recommendations for flights, hotels, and activities.
For flights, hotels, and activities, Volta links you out to book directly with the airline, hotel, or activity provider — anything you buy there is a transaction between you and that provider under their terms, not ours.
When you book through one of these links, the provider may pay Volta a referral commission. That's part of how Volta stays free for most users — it doesn't change the price you pay.
AI recommendations
Recommendations are generated by AI and are provided for informational purposes only. Prices, availability, and details may change. Always verify information directly with airlines, hotels, and activity providers before making purchases. Volta makes no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of recommendations.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your login credentials. Volta is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Volta, and at least 18 to subscribe to Volta Pro. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to make that purchase for you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Volta to: violate any laws, harass or harm other users, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, or use the service in ways that could damage, disable, or impair Volta. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Plans and billing
Volta is free to use, with a limit of 10 AI recommendation requests per account. Volta Pro is $4.99 a month for unlimited recommendations, and starts with a 7-day free trial the first time you subscribe. We may adjust what the free tier includes.
We take your payment details when you start the trial, but nothing is charged until the trial ends. Pro then renews automatically every month until you cancel. Cancel and you keep Pro until the end of the month you've already paid for — we don't cut you off partway. Cancel during the free trial and you're never charged.
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, Apple charges your Apple ID and handles renewals, so you cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings rather than in Volta. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. If you subscribed on the website, you can cancel from your Account page.
Subscription payments aren't refundable unless the law says otherwise. If you subscribed through the App Store, refunds are Apple's to give — we can't issue them.
Intellectual property
Volta and its content are owned by Volta Travel LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you submit (trip names, notes, etc.) and grant Volta a limited license to store and display it to provide the service.
Disclaimer of warranties
Volta is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific features will remain available. Use Volta at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to travel costs, missed reservations, or decisions made based on AI recommendations.
That includes anything an airline, hotel, or activity provider does or fails to do — delays, cancellations, schedule changes, denied boarding, lost bags, a bad stay. Those are between you and that provider, since booking happens on their site, not ours — your payment for that booking goes directly to them, not through Volta. If we're held responsible for something anyway, what we owe is capped at what you've actually paid us in the past year, meaning subscription fees.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any dispute about these terms or your use of Volta will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of Volta after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via email.
