Volta started from a simple frustration. The tools we had for booking travel were built for solo trips — they assumed you knew what you wanted, had a budget, and were ready to buy. None of that is true when you're trying to get six people to agree on anything.
We kept running into the same wall: someone would ask what everyone could spend, people would hedge, someone would quietly drop out, and the whole thing would either collapse or limp along with half the group unhappy about the price.
The fix wasn't a better spreadsheet. It was removing the conversation entirely.
Everyone sets their own budget privately. Nobody else sees it. The AI uses everyone's numbers behind the scenes to find options that work for the whole group — no peer pressure, no awkward texts, no one feeling like they have to lie about what they can afford.
